Maria Markina is alumna of the Houston Grand Opera Studio. She appeared in Verdi’s Simon Boccanegra and Rigoletto, Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte and sang the solo party in the world premiere of Christopher Theofanidis’s The Refuge. Ms. Markina is a member of the ensemble at Hamburg State Opera in Germany, where she appears frequently in leading roles.
Vasily Ladyuk is a soloist of Novaya Opera, Moscow. Since 2007 he has been a guest soloist of the Bolshoi Theatre. Mr. Ladyuk performs at the Mariinsky Theatre, the Metropolitan Opera, the Houston Grand Opera and La Scala. His repertoire includes the leading parties in Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin and Iolanta, Rossini’s Il Barbiere di Siviglia and in other famous operas.
In the program: presentation of the opera; Q/A with the guests; video- excerpts from the “Queen of Spades”- production of famous Opera Bastille with Vladimir Galuzine in leading role.
