Armenian soprano Mane Galoyan won third place in the women’s voice division of the prestigious International Tchaikovsky Competition in summer 2015. Other prestigious awards include a 2014 prize in the Hans Gabor Belvedere Competition, and first prize in the 7th Bibigul Tulegenova International Singing Competition in Kazakhstan. Ms. Galoyan is an alumna of HGO’s Young Artists Vocal Academy (2013) and HGO Studio artist (2015–17).

Korean baritone Sol Jin made his opera debut in 2014 at Carnegie Hall in New York City as the Germont in Verdi’s La Traviata. In October 2015 “Opera News” chose him as one of 25 rising opera stars in America. Mr. Jin received 1st prize in The Gerda Lissner Foundation International Vocal Competition and 4th prize in The Licia Albanese-Puccini Foundation’s Annual International Vocal Competition, Emerging Artist Awards for Opera Index Competition (2015), and 2nd Prize of XIV ALTAMURA/CARUSO International Voice Competition (2015). His stage appearances with various opera companies include: Rodrigo in Don Carlo,  Prince Yeletsky in Pique Dame, Macbeth in Macbeth and Il Conte in Le nozze di Figaro.

Miami, Florida, native Geoffrey Loff is a répétiteur, collaborative and solo pianist, assistant conductor, and composer. He made his concert debut at age 13 and has performed as a soloist for the Chopin Foundation and the International Miami Piano Festival. As a collaborative pianist, he has been a frequent performer for the Mainly Mozart Festival and the Chopin Foundation. He was pianist and music director for Atlanta Opera’s outreach program, young artist and assistant conductor for Opera North, and resident artist for Minnesota Opera. In summer 2015, he was a staff pianist and assistant conductor with Skylark Opera and Mill City Opera. At HGO Geoffrey Loff had been a coach for The Elixir of Love, Nixon in China, The Abduction from the Seraglio, Tosca, The Little Prince, The Marriage of Figaro, Siegfried,  and HGOco’s world premiere of Laura Kaminsky and Mark Campbell/Kimberly Reed’s Some Light Emerges. Mr. Loff is HGO Studio artist (2015–17).

Albina Shagimuratova

About the performers

Dazzling Russian coloratura soprano Albina Shagimuratova is the winner of Gold Medal in the 2007 Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow. She is a graduate of the Houston Grand Opera Studio and appeared at Houston Grand Opera, Bolshoi Theatre, Metropolitan Opera, Teatro alla Scala Milan and other famous opera theaters of the world.

Semion Skigin won Grand-prix at the International Competition of Piano Accompaniment in Rio de Janeiro in 1975. He is the Artistic Director of the Theatre Barge Music Festival in Dresden and Artistic Director of the Berlin Salon. Nowadays Semion Skigin is regarded as one of the most acknowledged and engaged masters of piano accompaniment.
