Dmitry Vyshemirsky is a resident of Kaliningrad. Until the end of World War II it was a city of East Prussia named Kenigsberg. Kaliningrad Region is a cultural landscape which emerged in Europe from a conflicting fusion of German and Russian cultures. The German heritage and today’s reality of his native city is the major focus of the art of Vyshemirsky.
The author attempts to expand the boundaries of traditional genres of photography. He is striving to express by means of the picture the methods he developed himself, to apply a single style throughout the images he has captured, to bring purely photographic and fine art features intimately into synthesis, and – remaining a photographer – to fill up his photographs with a wide range of painting styles.
Photo-documentary project “Post-“ includes colour slides produced exclusively in the Kaliningrad region, during 2004-2006. All photographs were taken using a tripod at a natural eye level without angle, using one camera and one type of film. Having applied this strict method of taking pictures, the author succeeded in scrutinizing everyday life. Balancing on the thin line of trivia, he managed to see a lot of interesting things in this common and ordinary life, and yet created a meditative, philosophical and poetic image of the land in which he lives.
We are open: Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Saturday 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Victoria Kovalenchikova is a professional artist from Belarus, who has been living and working in the Netherlands since 2008. The contemporary trend in her paintings is characterized by a figurative integration of abstract elements. Victoria uses “fragments of emotion” to express her individuality within the framework of urban views and landscapes.
Victoria explains her artwork as follows: “One walks to the favorite spot on the lake, but it is covered with litter. We inhale pollution instead of a flower fragrance. My new work is an outlook at the apocalyptic transformation of the world which surrounds us; creation of ecological crashes of the planet; shout in the cold infinity of cosmos. It is an attempt to understand and help humans by influencing them through the language of art. Maybe it will prevent desire to destruct and destroy life around us…”
Victoria’s work can be found at the Museum of Belarusian State Academy of Arts, Belarusian Contemporary Fine Art Museum, The National Art Museum of the Republic of Belarus (all in Minsk, Belarus), Maslennikov Art Museum, Mogilev Regional Study of Local Lore Museum named after Romanov, Mogilev Museum of Ethnography (all in Mogilev, Belarus), Belarusian Embassy in Berlin, Germany; Belarusian Embassy in Hague, the Netherlands; in the collection of the municipality of Coevorden, the Netherlands; as well as in private collections in Germany, Polland, Russia, Belarus, USA, the Netherlands, Belgium, Italy, France, Lebanon and Switzerland.
As a soloist of the “Flying Balalaika Brothers” group and former singer of “Red Elvises,” Zhenya Rock is mainly known as a virtuoso guitar and balalaika player. The Russian Cultural Center is now presenting his art works, which correlate with his sparkling musical performance.
Zhenya’s first big influence was a local theater, where Zhenya saw real canvases and big oversized stage props by artist and realist Alexander Savinov. Rock went to Alexander’s studio and took lessons from him, while also attending a local art school. At the age of 17, Zhenya began working for the Vologda Philharmonic Hall as a poster artist. Two years later, he started working at the local Drama Theater as a stage decorator and prop designer.
Three years later, Zhenya moved to Moscow and published his first original art on the cover of a program for an Ostrovsky play for the Moscow Harlequin Theater, where Zhenya also worked as a musician. Since that time, Zhenya was commissioned to make stage props, the theater logo and a series of posters for plays.
Artworks by Zhenya Rock were exhibited at Strictly Taboo Jazz Club (Dallas), Martin La Borde Gallery on Royal Street (New Orleans), Valencia Art Fair (Los Angeles), Viva Chocolato at the Domain (Austin).
On the opening reception guests will get a chance to meet with the artist and see Zhenya perform with the members of “Flying Babalaika Brothers.”

Jackson Pollock and Joan Miro. Being a very talented musician as well, he is also inspired by music and sounds.

“Life is a Dream” features work from two recognized Bulgarian artists, ceramicist Iskra Ivanova and painter Vassilen Vasevski.
Born in Varna, Bulgaria, Iskra Ivanova nurtured and developed her personal artistic style while studying Art History in Madrid, Spain. Her work has been featured in New York and Chicago, as well as internationally. In Houston, Ivanova taught at institutions including the Glassel School and the University of Houston. She currently lives in Colorado and is expecting a child.
Her work explores themes of human existence through a unique dedication to her materials. The clay she uses is taken directly from the earth, alluding to the universality of Nature—a force able to transcend cultural, national, and historical differences. The elegant forms she creates honor the richness of the material with all its subtlety of color and texture.
Vassilen Vasevski, born in Sliven, Bulgaria, began painting at a young age as a means of self-expression. He has displayed his works in the U.S. and Europe and participated in more than 80 group shows. Even today he considers his profession a continual means of finding inner peace and harmony.
Vassilen’s paintings can best be described as “metaphysical romanticism”—a style that derives its ambiguity and mystery from the artist’s own memories, dreams, and expectations. The soft light of Vassilen’s palette emanates through the canvas, connecting the artist’s inner self with the outer world.

“Creating an abstract composition that has a luminous mixture of forms and colors brings me happiness, inner strength and freedom. I hope that viewers will feel the same when they see my works… I think that the task of the artist is to show the things that one can feel but not see. And that’s what I am awaiting from my public-imagination and fantasy.” – Dmitri Koustov
After graduating from Ivanovo Art Institute, Dmitri worked in Moscow and St. Petersburg, Russia. Since 2000, Dmitri lives and works in College Station, Texas, USA. Dmitri’s paintings combine clear and intensive colors, forming the splendid harmony.
The works of Dmitri Koustov are in collections of the Ivanovo Art Museum, as well as in private collections in Russia, Germany, France, Austria, Singapore, England, Finland, and the United States.
The works of Dmitri Koustov are currently represented by Anya Tish Gallery.
