Irina graduated from Azerbaijan State College of Architecture.
In 1989 together with her family she immigrated to the United
States. |
As all newcomers, Irina's family had to fight for survival and make
their way up. Now she can dedicate more time to painting and other
creative activities. Variations on the ‘City Landscape' theme – is
the main idea of her watercolors, silk paints, and graphics. She is
not simply trying to copy the landscape, but rather to reflect the
feelings and the mood it imposed on her. Sometimes it is an actual
architectural object, other times – pure fantasy or the combination
of both. She loves painting flowers with watercolor; flowers are so
fragile, and their life is as short as watercolor artwork itself.
Often, she adds architectural details to still life.
She has recently tried herself as a book illustrator. Irina used
the technique of graphics and watercolor to illustrate a science-fiction
book called ‘Fate'. It will be published in Moscow in November of
this year.
Currently, Irina is sharing her time between being a mother, a commercial
real estate agent, and an artist. |
