Cultural Center Our Texas, a proud long-standing FotoFest partner, celebrates FotoFest’s 40th anniversary and is honored to host this exhibition for the Houston community.\nBetween Borders is a vivid visual journey into the lives of people caught between war and refuge. Through striking portraits and documentary scenes, Alena Grom captures the fractured realities of displacement and the quiet strength of those living in the shadow of conflict.\nHer photographs portray civilians rebuilding bombed homes, children fleeing with their families, and elderly survivors experiencing war for the second time in their lives. These deeply personal stories speak to resilience, resistance, and the enduring human spirit.\nAbout the Artist\nBorn in Ukraine and herself displaced by war, Alena Grom brings rare authenticity and emotional depth to her work.
