Irina Zamotorina

Irina Zamotorina was born and raised on the Volga River in Saratov, where she graduated from the Children’s Art School. She studied at Saratov State University, focusing on Russian literature and art history. She took drawing and painting classes at Prima Materia Art Institute in San Diego, CA, watercolor classes with Constance Paul in Cypress, TX, ceramics and painting classes at Lone Star College in Texas, and attended numerous art history lectures.

Irina participates in the ART SHOW in the Yellow Door Artists Community in Cypress, TX.

Irina created the paintings presented at the “Journey Through Color” exhibition from 2022 to the present day. This period marks the search for her style, the development of the ability to observe beauty in everyday life, to notice the play of light and shadow, and to see color. She prefers to use black paper for her oil pastel works to express color richness, achieve compositional unity, and enhance decorativeness. Most of the landscapes are inspired by Texas’s unique beauty and epic nature—the vast prairies, the power of weather phenomena, and the charm of the forest park areas in our neighborhoods. Still-lives, her favorite genre, is the result of observing the interaction of objects and the talent to see beauty in everyday life (the inability to pass by the modest beauty of everyday life).
