History of The Bogorodsk Toys.
Bogorodsk Toys craftsmanship is a world-known Russian tradition of making toys that originated in the 16th – 17th Centuries in the village of Bogorodskoe that belonged to the Trinity-Sergiyev Monastery. It became popular in the late 18th – early 19th Centuries in Russia, some most known and meticulous wooden sculptures have been created during that period including the famous “Bear on a Troika” composition.
