ART EXHIBIT “THE COLORS OF TORAH”
Cultural Center “Our Texas” is delighted to announce the opening of a captivating art exhibition titled “The Colors of Torah,” featuring the exceptional works of the renowned abstract artist, Valery Gazukin. The exhibition will commence on August 31, 2022, at 7:30 pm and will remain on view through October 27, 2023.
Valery Gazukin, a celebrated master of abstract painting, was born on December 4, 1951, in Orenburg, Russia. He graduated from the prestigious Leningrad GPI University (A. Herzen) with a degree in Graphic Arts, and since 1980, he has been a prominent member of the Russian Artists Union. Gazukin’s artistic journey was not just an exploration of abstract art; it was a lifelong devotion to the study of color and light, making him a true color-thinker.
Gazukin’s art was an embodiment of the bliss of color, light, and space. His unique model of the world eliminated all the unnecessary elements, focusing solely on the essence of harmony.
Throughout his illustrious career, Valery Gazukin’s artworks found a home in various prominent locations, including the Orenburg Museum of Fine Arts, museums, and galleries in Ekaterinburg, Perm, Helsinki, as well as in private collections in Poland, Hungary, Great Britain, Canada, and Germany. Though the artist passed away on January 5, 2014, his legacy continues to inspire and captivate art enthusiasts worldwide.
Anatoly Kantor, a distinguished Art Historian, shares his admiration for Gazukin’s art, stating, “The art of Gazukin, with his strict artistic discipline, a clear, well-defined, harmoniously constructed composition, and most importantly, with its magnificent harmonies of pure colors radiating a powerful energy, will captivate anyone and will please experienced and true art experts.”
