Bogorodsk Russian Toy is also a work of art: it’s a sculpture carved with a special knife from softwood types like elm, beech, or oak. Most toys have smooth details, are carved by hand, and are safe for children. You can find static and mobile Bogorodsk toys presented at the exhibition. History of The Bogorodsk Toys.

Bogorodsk Toys craftsmanship is a world-known Russian tradition of making toys that originated in the 16th – 17th Centuries in the village of Bogorodskoe that belonged to the Trinity-Sergiyev Monastery. It became popular in the late 18th – early 19th Centuries in Russia, some most known and meticulous wooden sculptures have been created during that period including the famous “Bear on a Troika” composition.
