Art and Wine Event: Pet Portrait
Join us for this art event, learn new painting techniques, and create a portrait of your pet together with Maksim Koloskov.
Our usual art instructor Natalia Kachanova is traveling to Poland in an attempt to get her mother from heavily bombed Kharkiv. We will continue to support and help the people of Ukraine.
The program includes an introduction to a booming art industry of pet portraits in classical, Renaissance, royal, and any other possible attire. You will learn more about how the idea of picturing pets (specifically, dogs) as humans had been introduced by painter Cassius Marcellus Coolidge and his “Dogs Playing Poker” (1903-1910).
At this art event, you will have the opportunity to choose your own composition and create your own work, based on the image and character of your pet, and your unique imagination.
No painting experience is necessary. All levels are welcome to participate. Bring a letter-size portrait of your pet.
