“VELOUR” EXHIBITION
By Natalia Filippova
“I do what I love, I love what I do!”
Opening: Saturday, June 13, 2026, 7:00 PM
On view: June 13 – July 13, 2026
Cultural Center “Our Texas” located at 2337 Bissonnet Street, Houston, TX 77005
At the heart of the exhibition is Filippova’s extraordinary mastery of velvet and fabric as artistic media. Working across a rich spectrum of techniques — patchwork, crazy quilt, crazy collage, boro, and sashiko — she transforms cloth into layered, tactile narratives that bridge fine art, textile tradition, and personal expression. Each piece is entirely unique, infused with the artist’s vision and handmade.
The opening evening’s program includes:
– multimedia artworks by the artist
– velvet fashion show featuring garments crafted from velvet and fine fabrics
– live music
– photography
– refreshments.

The exhibition is free and open to the public. All pieces will be available for purchase.
The gallery is open Monday to Friday 9:30 am – 3 pm, Saturday 9 am – 2 pm.
