Cultural Center “Our Texas” is honored to host a Curatorial Seminar on the Russian Photography collection of the Museum of Fine Art Houston presented to you by Fulbright Fellow, photo historian, and the curator of the FotoFest 2022 “Unread Warnings” – Irina Chmyreva. During this seminar Irina will unravel new discoveries and facts about the collection of the Soviet and Post-Soviet Russian Photography at the MFAH.

About Irina Chmyreva, Ph.D.
Irina is an internationally recognized Russian curator and writer. She is an art-director and co-founder of the PhotoVisa International festival of photography in the South Russia, since 2008. She is a tutor at the British School of Art and Design and a leading researcher at the Russian Academy of Arts, Moscow. She is the author of several books on Russian photography. Irina also curated numerous photo exhibitions all over the world including the latest FotoFest 2022 “Unread Warnings”. The exhibit is on view through November 4, 2022, in the Gallery of Cultural Center “Our Texas”.
