The concert program promises to be an exquisite journey through Rachmaninoff’s timeless compositions, masterfully interpreted by internationally acclaimed cellist Hasmik Vardanyan and pianist Xuefei Liu.

Sergei Rachmaninoff – Cello Sonata in G minor, Op. 19
Romances from Op. 4 and Op. 21 (arr. for cello and piano)
Elegie Op. 3, No.1 (arr. for cello and piano)

Hasmik Vardanyan, the distinguished cellist headlining this exceptional event, has graced the world’s most prestigious concert halls, including Carnegie Hall, the Paris Opera House, Tchaikovsky Music Hall in Moscow, Berlin Opera House, St. John Smith Square in London, and the Munetsugu Hall in Japan. Her extraordinary talent has earned her top prizes in numerous national and international competitions, such as the second prize at the Aram Khachaturyan International Cello Competition and the first prize in the Schlern International Cello Competition.

Described as “a musician with wonderful communicative and expressive quality”, Xuefei Liu enjoys a multifaceted musical career as pianist, educator, and musical director. A native of China, She has performed solo recitals and chamber music concerts in the United States, Asia and Europe. Xuefei is the top prizewinner of multiple competitions, including International Music Competition for Best Liszt Performance, International Nice Côte d’Azur Piano Competition, Concours International de piano de la Ville de Gagny, first prize and Swayder Hong Kong Piano Competition.
