What did it sound like to be in Paris in the early twentieth century — in the cafés, the salons, the concert halls where a revolution in sound was quietly unfolding? Debussy, Satie, Poulenc, and Ravel — alongside Stravinsky, whose artistic life was inseparable from Paris — paint a portrait of a city, and an era, unlike any other.

Francis Poulenc Sonata for Cello and Piano — II. Cavatine
